MY ST. LUCIA BLOG
In three weeks time my project with Saga Volunteer Travel will begin. My interest into volunteering began back in February of this year when I read an advertisement in the Saga Magazine. Nearly a year later here I am preparing to go to St. Lucia in the Caribbean to do some voluntary work at Dunnotar School for Special Needs Children. So much planning and collecting bits and pieces for the school have taken place during the year. Also to get some experience in this work I have been doing some volunteering at a special needs school near my home. As I have never worked in this field before I found the experience worthwhile and very satisfying.
My gratitude for all the help and support I have received from other volunteers during this year. Three of us (ladies) will be setting off from Gatwick Airport in January for the long journey to St. Lucia. I am so looking forward to my month away helping at the school and writing my blog (hopefully each day) as I imagine apart from busy school work I will have time to relax and enjoy the sunshine!!!!
As soon as Christmas is over I will be packing summer clothes, swimwear etc., in fact they are ready to throw into the case now, so St. Lucia here we come.
